Gov. Umaru Fintiri wins second term as Adamawa Governor-elect

The Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC) has declared Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as winner of the 2023 Adamawa State Governorship election.

Fintiri was declared winner of the keenly contested poll after collation was concluded yesterday. He is elected for a second term in office.

As announced by the returning officer of the election, Ahmadu Fintiri, of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), scored a total of 430, 821 votes to defeat the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, (APC), A’isha Binani who got 396,788.

The election was dogged by controversy and tension, the highlight of which was the declaration of Binani as winner of the election by the state resident electoral commission on Sunday while collation was still going on.
